Featured: The Albatross Continental Library

Albatross published the first modern mass market paperback, in Hamburg, in 1932. Their publishing model and their design were a direct influence on Penguin Books (as well as The Olympia Press.) The rise of Nazism and the beginning of the war eventually brought an end to Albatross.
