FEATURED: Glen E. Friedman's F**K YOU HEROES

Outside of jazz and baseball, I can't think of more quintessentially American institutions than skateboarding, hardcore punk, and hip hop. Luckily for all, photographer Glen E. Friedman was in the thick of all of these environments to document the magic as it was unfolding. He spent the mid 70s with the original Dog Town crew, was there to capture the manic intensity of Black Flag (possibly the best band to ever emerge from the US underground)and Suicidal Tendencies in the LA punk scene and ended up on the east coast when Public Enemy was bum rushing the streets of New York. The photos are uniformally exciting and are all meticulously catalouged. A classic.
