ORCHESTRA GONG GENG & YUKIE IMUTA'S KITAKAZE TO TAIYO

ORCHESTRA GONG GENG, Avant de commencer
Incerta Records (CD-r) $10.00 (Very Limited!)

Archival release from 1984, recorded at the Miasa Summer School Fest, Nagano, Japan. Live improvisation from a number of prominent members of the Japan underground performing under various aliases. Kind of an “out “ jazz workout colliding with a Taj Mahal Traveller Fluxus vibe. Very nice.

YUKIE IMUTA'S KITAKAZE TO TAIYO, Volume 1
Incerta Records (CD-r) $10.00 (Very Limited!)

A CD-r re-issue of a self-released cassette from 1986, recorded at Koto-ku Bunka Center, Tokyo Japan. A bit of a mystery. Frontman Yukie Imuta had ties to Japanese avant garde theatre, as well as Luna Park Ensemble, and other members of the Japan underground. Toy pianos, trumpets, kokyo; The CD opens with a duet for emphysema-ridden melodica and vocal chord shredding vocals, and it just gets better from there. 80s Avant-Wave weirdness meets the lysergic underground.
